Maxis SMS Sender ID Change

Starting 30 Jan 2026, Maxis SMS will show as "80XXX MAXIS" (e.g., 80100 MAXIS) instead of "Maxis"

Messages from other short codes, such as those in the 6XXXX or 2XXXX series, will remain unchanged. This means that Enterprise SMS services using these short codes are not affected by this specific sender ID format change and will continue to display their existing sender IDs.

Only the senderβs name changes:
- π¬ Same account alerts (bills, data usage)
- π Same promotions and offers

The content inside messages stays identical.

ALWAYS check the senderβs name:
- π Maxis: Must include numbers + "MAXIS" (e.g., 80200 MAXIS)
Real messages WILL NEVER:- β Ask for your password or full IC number
- β Demand instant payment via unofficial links
- β Threaten immediate disconnection
