Transformasi UsahaWIRA Maxis: Digitalising for a Better Atmosphere 

Kuala Lumpur-based Syahiful Norefenddy A. Samat packed his bags and left his job as a creative director, only to return to Kuantan to begin his career in lecturing. During this time, he also launched a foodie landmark in the heart of the city that has so far received an impressionable 4.5-star rating on Google.

Although Atmosphere Industry serves its customers a range of fusion-concept favourites, the intention of its conception was to provide a space for the youth to earn a living through their talents. Today, the restaurant has not just transformed from an old, abandoned bungalow into a lively communal space, but has also evolved through digitalisation. The need to go contactless

Initially, as happy as customers are with their food and dine-in experience, the same couldn't be said about their payment processes. Back then, the customers were dissatisfied with how they only accepted cash transactions and online transfers. On top of that, the long queues that awaited the customers after every meal were enough to lower their satisfaction. Realising the issue, Syahiful looked at other ways and decided that he needed to digitalise Atmosphere. 

Reaching out to a trusted partner and expert

Plus, with encouragement from the team, Syahiful was advised to apply for the SME Digitalisation Grant with Maxis and received a subsidy of RM5,000 to digitalise the restaurant. The grant supported their digitalisation journey and helped them minimise their business costs. Besides that, Maxis Business was also able to customise its plans to fit the restaurant's unique needs.  

Accelerating towards a digitalised future

While Maxis has helped Atmosphere improve its ordering process, accounting, and more, Syahiful also plans to enhance the restaurant's kitchen system. This will then act as the base model for other outlets to replicate in the future, once they open their next outlet in Kuala Lumpur.
